Why Khan Desktop?

The best way to view Khan Academy videos is through the Khan Academy web site at www.khanacademy.org. There you will find exercises, progress tracking, helpfull resources, and much more.

Khan Desktop is simply a Khan Academy video viewing utility. It is designed for:

• Desktop and Laptop computers running Windows XP or above.
• Slow internet connections - you can download videos to your hard drive for offline playback.
• No internet connection - load Khan Desktop on the offline computer, and play previously downloaded videos from removable media or a local folder. Note Khan Desktop must be used to download the videos.
• High speed connections - you can stream videos as you would from the Khan Academy site.
• Open Source and free software. No spyware, adware, or other sleezy junk.
